The Degree Seven team has one vital thing in common — love for nature and traveling. When naming our collections we wanted to give prominence to an often forgotten gem of the earth, minerals. Above you can see Pyrite, a mineral with gleaming beautiful metallic luster. It is the inspiration for our gold collection that includes gold titanium frames, gradient mirrored lenses and brown gradient lenses.

Pyrite is as beautiful as gold and was often mistaken for gold by many in history. Pyrite comes from the latin “pyro” which mean fire and heat in latin. When struck with a stone, pyrite can be used to ignite fire! Pyrite often occurs in geometric forms such as cubes or octahedrons which makes it even more precious.
